Near Maidstone in Kent is the beautiful Aylesford Priory, which was founded in 1242 by the Carmelite Friars and hence is also known as ‘The Friars’. It is now used as a place of peace and for prayer, as well as for conferences and training courses. Situated along the River Medway, Maidstone the town is a pretty place to visit and has a variety of different entertainment in the form of vineyards and museums. It’s also known as a great place for shopping.

The courses on offer are the Certificate in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills (one year), Diploma in Counselling Skills and Theory (two years) and Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (three years). Students can pay for the courses either upfront in advance (with discounts available) or through interest-free monthly instalments.

Robert H Collins (Bob) MHS Accred

Bob trained as a social worker in 1991 when he gained a BSc (Hons) in Applied Social Science and a Diploma in Social Work. After a couple of years practicing as a social worker, he trained as a teacher for students in further education and went on to hold a number of positions lecturing in Health and Social Care for Southgate/Southwark Colleges and City and Islington College. Bob has many years experience teaching varied and diverse student groups. In addition to this Bob is a qualified and experienced academic and work based assessor. Bob has also trained as a Hypnotherapist and has been in private practice for a number of years. Bob teaches Hypnotherapy and Basic Counselling Skills for Chrysalis.

Cheryl Sieloff MNCS Accred

Cheryl Sieloff is a qualified counsellor, who holds a Certificate and Diploma in Integrative Counselling and an MSc in Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy Studies from the Kent At Canterbury University. She has over ten years of experience of working as a counsellor, which began in the voluntary sector with a charitable counselling organisation and as a student counsellor at a university in Kent. Since then, she has run her own private practice and provided counselling for clients within the Prison System. For the last 4 years she has worked as a Counsellor for the Rehabilitation of the Addicted Prisoners Trust (RAPt) providing Integrative Counselling and the 12 Step Approach on a drug/alcohol recovery programme to individuals and groups. She has an extensive history of working with clients whom have experienced Addiction issues, Abuse, Depression, Behavioural Issues, Self Harm and Confidence/Self Esteem issues.

Lynn Hunt MNCS Accred

Lynn originally trained as a nurse and remains a Registered General Nurse (RGN), with over 18 years’ experience working with people in difficulty in a wide range of situations including relationship issues, alcohol abuse, substance misuse, criminal justice and mental health. As well as having a private practice she supervises the counselling service and run Life Skills programs. Lynn also runs clinical supervision groups for the Volunteer Counsellors at Mind. She has a Diploma in Counselling. Lynn is also registered as a member of the Nursing and Midwifery council (NMC) and has a Diploma in Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) and Deprivation Of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS).

Jacki Oliphant MHS

After a career in radio broadcasting and media Jacki made a career change in 2010 after graduating with the Chrysalis Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Course (Ad. Dip. PsyC). She has run her private practice in hypnotherapy and counselling specialising in anxiety, confidence and personal development. Jacki draws from many modalities and strategies including CBT, positive psychology, transformational coaching and Eastern philosophy with hypnotherapy as the foundation of the work she does.

Jacki holds qualifications in Regression Therapy, Parts Therapy, CBT and Hypnotherapy Weight-Loss, Mindfulness for Anxiety and Depression and is currently studying for a Masters Degree in Psychology.

Fiona Gunasekara MNCS Accred

Fiona is a counsellor and supervisor who holds an MSc in therapeutic Counselling and a Diploma in Supervision. Although she originally trained in the Psychodynamic tradition she now works with a vast array of counselling skills and techniques including Psychodynamic, Humanistic and CBT. Fiona currently works as a supervisor and counsellor in private practice, teaches for Chrysalis and CPCAB and supervises counsellors at two local organisations. Helen Thomson MHS Accred

Helen is an Accredited Member of the National Hypnotherapy Society and holds an Accredited Diploma in Hypnotherapy and a Certificate in Clinical Hypnotherapy. She is also a registered Hypnobirthing Teacher (Dip KG) Helen started her career as a Psychodynamic Counsellor in 2001. She has a wealth of experience working as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist in schools, private practice and within Surrey. Helen has worked as a clinical assessor in a counselling agency and she is currently training as a Counselling Supervisor. She works with adults, young people and families offering Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy from her private practice. Helen is the founder of Trust Therapies based in Surrey. She is also a registered EAP (Employer Assistance Programme) Counsellor and a BUPA registered Counsellor.
