FURTHER TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS

Once your Core Counselling Training is complete, you may find yourself wanting to learn more about the counselling field. You may be thinking of specialising in a specific area of counselling. Maybe you have found a topic within the field that you would like to study more or spend some time conducting your own research on. It might interest you to continue your counselling studies to build up Guided Learning Hours to reach a higher level of membership with your chosen professional register, such as the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.

Chrysalis Courses offers Ofqual regulated Level 5 and Level 6 diploma courses and Level 5 Certificate short courses that can extend your knowledge and help you to develop further counselling skills, as well as helping you gain more Guided Learning Hours towards a higher level of membership with your chosen professional register.

The Chrysalis Level 5 Diploma in Advanced Counselling Practice is a 1-year, intensive program designed to assist already qualified counsellors to work towards fulfilling the requirements for the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society’s membership grade of PNCPS (Acc.) membership grade. This course will give successful students a further 152 Guided Learning Hours.


The Chrysalis Level 6 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Research in Counselling) is a 1-year specialist training program earning students an additional 52 Guided Learning Hours. Students on this diploma course will conduct their own research project that has the potential to inform others’ practice, or as a route into post-graduate study.


This 2-year Level 6 Diploma Counselling course is a full specialist qualification, which gives a training route to apply to join the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society’s specialist Children and Young People’s Therapist Accredited Register.


Chrysalis offers a growing suite of short Level 5 Certificate courses in contemporary subjects. These courses take place over 3 days and offer 24 Guided learning hours and 15 credits to students who complete the course. As well as the training days, there will be reading and exercises, as well as a 3000-word assignment to complete.
