ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Students must be Qualified Counsellors at Level 5 and must hold a membership with an accredited register, such as the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society.

Students must provide evidence of 100 hours of clinical practice in the form of supervisor’s and placement provider’s reports.

Why This Course?

The Chrysalis Level 6 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Research in Counselling) has been designed to enable learners to continue a full specialist training in Psychotherapeutic Counselling to an advanced Level and to further their specialist knowledge in an area or topic of their interest and develop research in that area. The course provides opportunity for students to develop or maintain a specialism or to demonstrate an advanced academic understanding by pursuing a project that has the potential to inform others’ practice or as a possible route into post-graduate study. Students will be provided with the skills needed to carry-out a research proposal and will be able to submit an academic research project to gain this qualification.

During this course, students will attend weekly online sessions on Wednesday evenings, will study on the Chrysalis Moodle platform, will submit a research proposal for external marking, and they will submit a dissertation from 10,000-20,000 words for external marking by the end of the year of study. Students will also be required to attend one-to-one meetings with their course supervisor, designed to help throughout their journey.
