Martin Faulkner MNCS Accred
Martin graduated with a BA Hons degree in Theology and Religious Studies from Manchester University in 1993, Post Graduate Certificate in Education from Bolton University in 2001, and Salford University with a Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision in 2006. At present he is completing an MSc in Counselling Studies and plans to continue with a PhD researching mental health concerns in recruitment to high-intensity faith groups. He has fifteen years experience in delivering counselling training courses from foundation to diploma, performing quality assurance audits including accreditation and internal verification for external moderating bodies, working within an OSFTED inspected setting and NVQ remit in health studies, social care, psychology and communications. He also lectures in higher education on counselling diploma and degree programmes and holds workshops in counselling specialisms. Martin is also the senior counsellor in tertiary education and has established community-based links across Greater Manchester. Martin, originally from Cheshire, lives in Manchester where he has a private practice and specialises in sexuality issues, eating disorders and post traumatic stress disorder.
Joy Hewitt MNCS Accred
Joy has an MSc (with Distinction) in Counselling Psychology; a B.A. (Honours) reading literature, history and psychology; a Graduate Diploma in Counselling: a City and Guild 7407 Teaching Certificate and a Diploma (with Distinction) in Stress Management Training. At present Joy is completing an NVQ Level 5 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Diploma. Joy is an experienced counsellor, group development facilitator, tutor for counselling programmes and a stress management trainer. Over the last 12 years Joy has primarily worked in a Further Education Student and Staff Counselling Service. Widening Participation has enabled students with long-term mental distress to access education and Joy has been able to work as a complementary practitioner alongside the client’s existing medical and psychiatric support. Joy is experienced in working with foreign students who need the assistance of an interpreter for their counselling sessions. Joy has also worked as a counsellor to children who have been placed into Care homes by Social Services. These children have been victims of abuse and/or perpetrators of abuse. Joy has a private practice and is an Associate counsellor with a range of EAP organisations.
Julian Gill MHS
Julian runs a successful hypnotherapy practice in Manchester with his wife and also works from two physiotherapy and complementary therapy clinics in Lancashire. He has diplomas in Clinical and Analytical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapeutic Counselling and has experience of treating a wide variety of issues, including stress, anxiety, confidence, depression, phobias, panic and OCD. He runs programmes for weight-loss and IBS and enjoys working with groups as well as individual clients. Julian is particularly interested in the links between hypnotherapy and ‘mindfulness’ and is also qualified in the use of Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT. Before devoting himself full-time to hypnotherapy, Julian was a teacher and faculty head in the sixth form college sector for 20 years and still enjoys working with teenagers as well as adults. He also has an MA and a PhD and regards his progression from teaching to hypnotherapy as part of a natural evolution. His role as a Chrysalis tutor combines his expertise in teaching with his passion for hypnotherapy.
Lesley Edelstein MNCS Accred
Lesley is in private practice with rooms in central Manchester and Wilmslow Cheshire. She chose to study Counselling Psychotherapy after achieving an honours degree in Psychology and a Masters in The Psychology of Education from The University of Manchester in 2004. Lesley is a Chrysalis graduate following successful completion of 3 years study in 2011.
Lesley specialises in working with those going through a break up and created Divorce and Separation Support over two years ago. She works one to one, gives talks to groups of people and she supports both adults and children though a multitude of issues that can arise after a break-up. Lesley updates her knowledge of the legal aspects of divorce by having regular meetings and giving presentations to high profile Family Law firms.
Lesley is the on- call therapist for a care home and has given numerous talks motivating and assisting staff with difficulties they face.

Cathy Vincent MNCS Accred
Cathy is a full time accredited Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor. She holds an honours degree majoring in Psychology (Open University ) and a PostGraduate / MA Counselling from the University of Manchester. Cathy has a portfolio of work including working in private practice and in schools. Her years of practice she has worked with a vast amount of clients to help with a variety of presenting issues.She works from an Integrative perspective and has a particular interest in working with children and young people with special needs.
Michael is a Person Centred therapist who is also trained in Cognitive & Behavioural Therapy. He is a counselling supervisor who works with students as well as fully qualified counsellors.
Michael is an experienced therapist who has worked in voluntary and private sector. Currently, he works in HE as well as drug & alcohol agency.
He is approachable, kind and dedicated to meet his students’ academic goals.
