Living in an "addictive household" sparked porn obsession, actor Terry Crews admits

Actor Terry Crews has opened up about his addiction to porn, stating that it started because he lived in an "addictive household" as a child.

According to thewrap.com, the 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' star first began looking at porn in his uncle's basement when he was 12 years old. He explains that his father was an alcoholic and his mother was obsessed with religion. Crews also wasn't allowed to play sports or watch films as a child.

"You don't know how powerful you (women) are," he says, reports usatoday.com. "Men get addicted to looking at pictures of you. That's how powerful a woman is. It's one of those things that took me away and it medicated me. But this is the problem. I never told anyone. I didn't tell my wife for years."

His addiction became so bad, he ended up having an affair five years ago. He and his wife Rebecca have been married for 25 years and thankfully she was able to support him, so the two are still together.

Mr Crews opens up about his problems in his memoir 'Manhood'. The addiction may come as surprising to some, as the actor is known for his big smile and cheerful attitude. However, he admits that part of the reason he is so loud is because he's partially deaf. He says he's had problems with his hearing ever since he was a child and had to learn how to read lips so that he can have a conversation with people in crowded, noisy places.
