Chrysalis Wins Two Sussex Chamber Business Awards 2026

We’re delighted to share that Chrysalis has won two awards at the Sussex Chamber Business Awards 2026, recognising the growth, diversification and continued development of the organisation.

Chrysalis was named winner of both the Scale Up Business of the Year Award and the Business Diversification Award.

The recognition comes at an exciting time for Chrysalis, as we evolve from a leading provider in counselling training, into an organisation supporting learners, graduates, employers, therapists and clients at different stages of their journey.

Building something bigger than training

For more than 25 years, Chrysalis has helped people build careers in counselling and talking therapies, training more than 10,000 counsellors along the way.

However, the world around us has changed, and so have the needs of our learners, graduates and the wider mental health sector.

We recognised that there was an opportunity to do more than provide training, and that we could support people beyond the classroom, helping them continue their professional development, access employment opportunities and connect with people seeking mental health support.

That has led to the development of a much broader Chrysalis ecosystem.

Our diversification now includes Chrysalis Membership, providing therapists with ongoing CPD, workshops, resources and additional benefits. We have also launched Chrysalis Talking Therapies, an online platform connecting qualified graduates with clients seeking accessible and affordable therapy, while creating new employment opportunities for our graduates.

Alongside this, Chrysalis Workplace provides businesses with access to wellbeing, training and therapy solutions, helping us extend our reach into the workplace.

These developments represent a significant change for Chrysalis. We are no longer solely focused on the point at which someone begins their counselling training; we are building ways to support people throughout their professional journey and beyond.

Growth with purpose

Winning the Scale Up Business of the Year Award is particularly meaningful because our growth has been about more than simply becoming a bigger organisation.

Our aim has been to build a more sustainable and diverse business, creating multiple ways to generate value for the people and organisations we work with.

Alongside our established training provision, we now have income streams across membership, therapy services and corporate partnerships. This diversification gives Chrysalis a stronger foundation for continued growth while allowing us to invest in new ideas and services.

Our plans for the coming years include continuing to develop our digital services and growing our presence across both the training and therapy sectors.

Ultimately, the goal is simple: to build an organisation that can continue to grow while creating a greater positive impact across the counselling and mental health sectors.

Recognition across the Chrysalis team

The two awards weren't the only recognition Chrysalis received on the night.

We were also runners-up in the Diversity and Inclusion and Commitment to People categories, while Millie, Chrysalis’ Business Development Manager, was named runner-up for Young Business Person of the Year.

We're incredibly proud of this wider recognition because it reflects that growth isn't just about new products, services or financial performance. It's also about the people behind Chrysalis and the culture we're continuing to build.

As Chrysalis continues to evolve, we’re also investing in how we communicate our work and connect with the audiences we want to reach. We’ve been supported in this journey by Uncommon Blue, a Chichester-based marketing agency focused on helping ambitious businesses build and grow.

Looking ahead

Winning two Sussex Chamber Business Awards gives us an opportunity to reflect on how far Chrysalis has come, but we're not standing still.

The next stage of our journey is about continuing to develop the services we've introduced, exploring new opportunities and finding better ways to support learners, graduates, employers and clients.

From training and professional development to therapy, employment and workplace wellbeing, we're building an organisation that can support more people in more ways.
