Tamsin has worked as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist for over ten years. Tamsin has always had an interest in helping people and a curiosity about how minds and emotions work. Tamsin completed a BSc in Psychology in 2010 and after completion of the Diploma elements in 2013, she went on to gain the full MSc qualification in Counselling Psychology with Keele University in 2014. Tamsin's core therapeutic approach is based within the humanistic and Person Centred modalities, but training and experience has enabled integration of Psychodynamic, CBT and creative techniques.
Tamsin currently works for a NHS Talking Therapies service which are time limited interventions inline with NICE Guidelines. Tamsin has trained in NHS approved modalities of PCE-CfD (Uni. of Nottingham) and more recently EMDR which has been a long-standing interest. Tamsin provides supervision to colleagues, and is always keen to develop the skills of herself and others to benefit client work.
Tamsin has worked in prison based Therapeutic Communities (TC) providing offenders with longer term person centred and integrated psychodynamic psychotherapy via group facilitation and one to one therapy. Tamsin also engaged in TC specific CPD and oversaw a research pilot for a virtual therapeutic tool.
Tamsin also has varying other experiences from Private Practice; working with Children and Young people; to having the pleasure of being invited to deliver Guest Lecture(s).
