Janet is an accredited pluralistic psychotherapist with a First-Class Honours degree in Counselling.
She has over five years’ experience supporting adults and young people with a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, trauma, phobias, and life transitions. Her professional experience spans face-to-face counselling at Mind (St. Catherine’s Hospital), delivering remote therapy via a global online platform, and providing therapeutic interventions for adolescents and pupils with special educational needs (SEN) in educational settings.
Her therapeutic approach is integrative and evidence-based, incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Transactional Analysis (TA), motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and hypnotherapy. She tailors therapy collaboratively to each individual’s needs and values, fostering a safe, empathetic, and non-judgemental environment.
Alongside her clinical work, Janet is passionate about training and mentoring future therapists. She has provided mentoring and support through one-to-one and group work in educational settings and professional practice, helping students and colleagues build confidence, and cultivate a reflective approach to their work. Her experience supporting diverse populations, including young people with SEN and international clients online, informs her teaching and enables her to bring practical, real-world insight to the classroom.
