Emma Kennedy

NCPS Accred

Emma is an integrative therapist with a strong person-centred foundation and a passion for supporting others to understand themselves and their relationships more deeply. Her experience spans across a range of settings, including schools, the NHS, charities and private practice, working with both adults and young people. She currently works in the post adoption therapy field where my approach has become focussed towards relational trauma and helping clients stabilise in their identity, despite their challenging life stories. Helping them to create meaningful change and stability over their life spans.

Emma's interest in other therapeutic theories, including their different ways of understanding human experience, comes from wanting to explore how these ideas can be integrated into a person-centred framework without losing sight of the individual and the uniqueness of their lived experience. She values curiosity, compassion and the ability to sit alongside another person without needing to have all the answers.

Outside of her therapeutic work, she is drawn to nature, history, poetry, creativity and all things mystical. She loves exploring the connections between people, the natural world, our ancestral stories and the things we sometimes struggle to put into words. Painting, writing, movement and sound are all ways she enjoys exploring the world and making sense of experience. She is particularly fascinated by the spaces where creativity, spirituality and our shared humanity meet.

As a person, she hopes to bring warmth, kindness, openness and a genuine sense of care to the spaces she shares with others. Emma values meaningful conversations, different perspectives and the freedom to explore ideas without judgement. She is always learning, questioning and discovering, and believes there is something valuable in remaining open to the things we don’t yet fully understand.

Emma is looking forward to connecting with others, sharing experiences and learning together in a space where curiosity, creativity and compassion can flourish.
