Alex Carling

Alex is a qualified psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and brainspotting practitioner. She holds a BSc in Psychology, a Level 7 Diploma in Transactional Analysis, a Level 3 Certificate in Education and Training, a Level 1 Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and she is a Certified Adoption Therapist. Since 2012, she has worked in private practice, specialising in trauma and neurodiversity.

Drawn to more body-oriented approaches, Alex trained in brainspotting and is currently completing Level 1 training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. Her work is integrative and relational, with a strong emphasis on the mind-body connection.

Before establishing her practice, Alex spent 15 years working in a refuge for women and children fleeing domestic abuse. Today, she works with individuals, groups, and parents, bringing her holistic training to support healing, health and connection.

Alex is committed to acknowledging systemic privilege and increasing access to therapy. As part of this, she offers a number of free or low-cost services.

Passionate about both therapy and education, Alex feels deeply privileged to support others in their personal and professional development, and she greatly enjoys facilitating learning within the field.
