Jennifer Lawrence talks about anxiety issues

Actress Jennifer Lawrence has talked about her anxiety battles before she became famous.

Lawrence is one of the biggest stars around at the moment, thanks to her roles in the likes of 'The Hunger Games' franchise and 'Silver Linings Playbook', however she hasn't always been as confident.

The 23-year-old Oscar winner was talking about her mental health issues in an interview with French magazine Madame Figaro. She said in the interview, according to justjaredjr.com: "When my mother told me about my childhood, she always told me there was like a light in me, a spark that inspired me constantly. When I entered school, the light went out. We never knew what it was, a kind of social anxiety. But I had friends."

The actress also said that she took both medication and went through therapy to help with these issues, according to dailymail.co.uk.

During the interview, Lawrence also claimed that she tries to keep as grounded as possible, as she said that often things in the film industry can go "too fast". She said the to help this, she hired her best friend Justine to assist her, so the two of them can "hang out" after filming.

'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' hits cinemas this Thursday (November 21) in the UK.
