Why This Course?

The Chrysalis Level 5 Extended Diploma in Advanced Counselling Practice has been designed to enable qualified counsellors to enhance their existing training by progressing towards an advanced level of professional registrations. The course is a route for already qualified counsellors to work towards fulfilling the requirements of the National Counselling Society’s membership grade of MNCS (Professional Accredited), which gives access to an enhanced range of employment opportunities.

Running for 1-year on a part-time basis, students will meet in person for 1 full weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday from 10am-6pm) with short Teams sessions between. The course requires 100 hours of supervised counselling practice in an organisational placement with clients. Placement will need to be approved by Chrysalis. Students must complete a Study of Supervised Practice whilst on placement.
